Abbey Sefton Hospital - Bariatric Surgery
CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE FOR WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY AT ABBEY SEFTON HOSPITAL
Starting the year with a New Look to its Weight Loss Surgery programme – known as Bariatric Surgery – Network For Health member June Fowles and her Team at Abbey Sefton Hospital are rolling out a new programme for patients who suffer from excessive weight problems. This life saving surgical procedure means that a patient can lose over 60% of excess weight and also get relief from obesity related diseases, such as heart disease and diabetes.
The Hospital has been undertaking this specialist surgery for patients from all over the UK including the Isle of Man and Ireland for the past 8 years. June says “being a specialist centre means that you have to keep refreshing the surgical programmes that are on offer to patients who cannot lose weight in a conventional way.
A longer period of follow-up after bariatric surgery is a normal part of the care that is given to patients. This usually incorporates regular monitoring for 1 to 2 years after the operation. The follow-up programme helps the patient make a very valuable recovery which includes psychological support, dietary advice and regular management care.
Our surgery packages start from £5,995 for a Gastric Band, but we offer an extensive range of operations including Gastric By-Pass surgery, Duodenal Switch and also Revisional surgery.
